HHS Makes Changes to PRF Reporting Requirements

On June 11, 2021, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Provider Relief Fund (PRF) issued a reporting notice easing reporting requirements for payment recipients. The HHS extended the time to report information and deadlines to spend PRF funds received after June 30, 2020. The new reporting window for PRF will now be calculated from the time funds are first received.

Below is a summary of important updates:

Period of Availability of Funds

• The period of availability of funds applies to all past and future PRF payments and is on the date the payment is received (rather than requiring that all payments are to be used by June 30, 2021).

Reporting Time Periods

• Recipients are required to report payments received exceeding $10,000 in aggregate (rather than cumulatively across all PRF payments) for each Payment Received Period. Reporting must be completed and submitted to HRSA by the last date due (see table below).
• The original 30-day reporting period has been extended to a 90-day period.

Summary of Reporting Requirements

The reporting requirements are also now applicable to those who received relief funding from the Skilled Nursing Facility and Nursing Home Infection Control Distribution in addition to General and other Targeted Distributions.

The PRF Reporting Portal will open for providers to start submitting information on July 1, 2021.
