PRF Reporting Delayed

Last year, the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act appropriated funds to reimburse eligible healthcare providers for healthcare-related expenses or lost revenues attributable to coronavirus. These funds were distributed by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through the Provider Relief Fund (PRF) program. Recipients who received one or more payments exceeding $10,000 in aggregate will be required to report data elements on the funds' use as part of the post-payment reporting process through the PRF reporting portal. In recent months, the guidance indicated that the PRF reporting portal would open on January 15, 2021, and that providers would have until February 15, 2021, to upload required documentation. However, due to the recent passage of federal legislation which earmarked $3 billion to the PRF program, the HHS provided an update that amended the reporting timeline. It did not include a new date for submissions to begin.

While the new date of reporting has not been announced, we recommend that you take the proper steps to get ready for future reporting requirements.
