Tom Dowling Named One of BusinessWest’s 40 Under Forty

HOLYOKE, Massachusetts – May 12, 2026

Whittlesey is proud to announce that Tom Dowling has been named one of BusinessWest’s 2026 40 Under Forty honorees.

As Partner-in-Charge of Whittlesey’s Holyoke office, Tom oversees a team of 20 professionals and manages a diverse portfolio of clients, with a strong focus on nonprofit organizations. Since joining Whittlesey in 2017, he has played a key role in strengthening the firm’s presence in Western Massachusetts, including supporting the successful merger with Holyoke-based Lester Halpern.

Tom’s work with nonprofit organizations extends far beyond traditional audit and tax services. He serves as a trusted advisor to clients navigating regulatory changes, funding uncertainty, operational efficiencies, internal controls, and long-term financial planning. As nonprofits across Massachusetts continue to face evolving financial and political challenges, Tom works closely with organizations to help them remain resilient and mission-focused.

In addition to his client work, Dowling is active in both professional and community organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He also serves on the Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island Swish Night committee and volunteers as a youth basketball coach.

The Class of 2026 will be celebrated on June 11, 2026, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
