Whittlesey's Amanda Jagello and Caitlin Nero Honored with CTCPA Women’s Awards

Whittlesey is proud to announce that two of its team members, Amanda Jagello and Caitlin Nero, have been recognized by the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) with CTCPA Women’s Awards, honoring their leadership, professional excellence, and contributions to the accounting profession.

Amanda Jagello, Senior Assurance Manager at Whittlesey, received the Experienced Leaders Award, which recognizes CPAs with at least 10 years of experience who have advanced to senior leadership roles. Amanda brings more than 20 years of public accounting experience and specializes in audits for nonprofit organizations, credit unions, and financial institutions.

At Whittlesey, Amanda plays an integral role in the firm’s assurance practice and serves on the firm’s Quality Control Program, helping uphold the highest professional standards. She is also deeply committed to mentoring staff and supporting their technical and professional development.

Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and is a member of the CTCPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She also serves as PTO Treasurer of Hillside Intermediate School.

Caitlin Nero, Assurance Manager at Whittlesey, was named a recipient of the Emerging Leaders Award, which recognizes CPAs with 10 or fewer years of experience who have made a meaningful impact on the profession and their communities. Caitlin has more than seven years of public accounting experience and specializes in serving nonprofit organizations and closely held businesses.

In her role, Caitlin provides accounting and assurance services with a primary focus on nonprofit organizations, assisting clients with complex accounting matters, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and the State Single Audit Act. She is also actively involved in training and mentoring staff across the firm.

Caitlin is a member of the AICPA and CTCPA and serves as a Trustee on the CTCPA Accounting Scholarship Foundation Board of Trustees. She earned a Master of Science in Accounting from Albertus Magnus College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Quinnipiac University.

Each leads with integrity and purpose, strengthening both our organization and the accounting profession.”

CTCPA’s Women’s Awards recognize CPAs for outstanding contributions to the profession across multiple categories, including leadership, service, and professional achievement. Award recipients will be honored at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
